Low maintenance pet

ginevive Jul 19, 2004 06:22 AM

If any of you have large horned frogs, you can probably relate to this. My big female cranwell buries herself for periods that can exceed one month. I just make sure to keep her substrate moist (not sopping wet.) During this time she requires no feeding and only surfaces after a defecation, to rebury herself in another area of the tank.
Her temps are all right. I am thinking she is the most low-maintenance pet I have ever had. Does anyone else experience this with their big, lazy horned frogs?

i have never kept mine on soil, usually on wet paper towels or just water. i'm thinking about changing that though. i will probably put mine on soil pretty soon after hearing what yours does. thanks for the inspiration.

I agree. My albino pac-man finds his one place to bury and only emerges to deficate and then relocates. He doesn't even leave to eat, he lets the food come to him.
