Egg Identification Help

texdeb Jul 19, 2004 08:44 AM

I live in north Texas and have found eggs in a storage building I'm cleaning. They are English pea size, thin shelled, light beige in color with a slight pink tint. I've found them inside old boxes that are not sealed shut. There is no sign of a nest. It is very hot in this building but it is certainly not air tight. Thanks for any help. Deb

They sound like Hemidactylus tercicus eggs...Mediterranean Geckos. Did you candle them? See any veins? Now is the time of year when they will be laying.

Of course this is a guess.

Thanks, Gecko sounds right but it is just hard to imagine 6-8 of these eggs coming out of such small lizards. I found more yesterday and was trying hard not to disturb them but one fell and cracked. Within minutes a lizard emerged and took off running. Pretty good timing!! Thanks, again, Deb.
