I know you like to dink with photoshop but if that's a real pattern do you think you can prove it out?

that is not retouched at all. the BD is 1 day old and I am hoping against the odds that the pattern holds. Most cool patterns dissapear as they age however. I just thought it was very different looking.

I'm with Rob. If it's real, it's very interesting. But I know how you can be with Photoshop......

I like the subtle pattern on him. They look much different then the normal busy zigzag patterns that the majority hatch out with. Seems one or two out of my clutches this season had the real wide box patterning instead of the usual zigzag conected patterns down the spine which caused the nice straight white lines across the back like that. That one has less box patterning then any of mine did though. Looks pretty neat Bennett.

thanks, I know just what your talking about. I think the oddball patterns are cool. I had one last season that was different looking but as she aged the pattern lost contrast and blended together. I always get a chuckle when people sell "zig zag" or "zipper" paterns as if they were something bizzarly rare and they think it will stay that way.

I couldn't begin to imagine where you would start something like that on Photoshop. I think it's pretty cool. What were the parents like? If they were mostly patternless is this guy going to lose it's pattern as it grows? I've seen some pretty cool babies that seem to change as they grow and appear more normal or patternless with age. As of right now I give him a 9 1/2 on the cool scale.

thanks, yea i tend to agree with the patterns fade theory, I just hope it doesn't.

The father is one of my Florida Oranges, normal pattern and the mother is a 7 year old sandfire. she laid 4 clutches this season. Out of the 2 that hatched, 2 have had some problems. One was born without an eye. One has a kinked back and will probably not survive.

Looks like it is a smoothie. Reduced tubercles on the back.Check out the bumps on the back compared to the clutchmates. Some almost look like a piece of leather.
Nice going ,
Good luck with him or her
