Newbie looking info on keeping RETF

psmoore Jul 19, 2004 10:08 AM

Looking for some information on keeping these types of frogs. I'm new to it, but considering it. I'm looking for information on how to do it. Maybe suggestions on books to read, etc.

Thanks.

Paul,

Unless you have previous tree frog experience i don't recommend a Red eye as a beginner tree frog. Although it can be done, keeping a red eye as a first tree frog is risky. doing a search on yahoo or google " red eye tree frog care sheet" should give you the info you need. good luck

Thanks for the reply. I'll be looking for that information. What would you suggest for a first time frog keeper?

For a first time tree frog keeper i highly suggest a captive bred whites tree frog. Whites are very good frogs to keep b/c the are very good eaters and can get up to 4 inches long. They also withstand "beginner" mistakes/problems better than most frogs. I've been keeping frogs for almost nine years and i have four myself. good luck
