Why is Kingsnake.com sooo slow?

burmaboy Jul 19, 2004 12:54 PM

Of all the websites I use, Kingsnake.com is the slowest.
Even using a broadband connection, the site frequently times out, or freezes up.
I am using a way fast, power puter, so I know that's not it.
Any help anyone?
It's quite frustrating.

It's pretty much everyone having problems regardless of the type of connection you use. last I heard it was probably a problem with a router or something somewhere. The tech that would normally deal with looking into and fixing stuff (assuming it's a problem on the site end and not the internet) is a bit distracted with other things... town was one of several that was flooded from all the heavy rain that's been dumped lately in several areas of the US and Canada.

I find it is incredibly slow and painful from my home computer, but fast at work. My home computer is fast on other websites and both computers I use are hooked to internet by a LAN connection, so I don't know. It must have something to do with the network you use. Firewalls maybe?

Perhaps more bandwidth is in order here to handle the traffic?
I get one or two ads from Kingsnake, then it freezes.
Reminds me of AOL years back, when it would'nt work at all.
It is quite frustrating. I dont know what the commercial accounts cost on Kingsnake, but before I invest I would want to see this problem fixed. The problem does occur during what would be considered high traffic times. Evenings.
It could also be my LAN, but, Kingsnake is the only online service that has this problem.
All my other internet programs fly!
