savannah monitor substrate and feeding

i have my savannah on peat moss with a little vermiculite mixed in and is this a good substrate?How moist should i keep it?Also i feed him a pinky every other day and i give him crix everyday but i dont see him eat them but they disappear. Is this good?

My suggestion is this...

I'm not 150% sure on the substrate so I won't answer to that.. although I will answer to the feeding.

How much you are feeding him depends on how big he is. Perhaps, if he will take it try feeding him a pinky everyday, as well as crickets. At this stage of life, he should have as much food offered to him as he will take. He is not to the point yet where you have to worry about him becoming obese. Try feeding him as much as he will take within a mixture of crickets, pinkys/fuzzies, mealworms, roaches, etc. Everyday.
