Freezing silkworms will kill them as well as parisites I would imagine. Kind of expensive to be killing them off like that.

Shaon94(Never tried to freeze one though so I could be wrong)

From what I understand you can freeze silkies and save them for later use. I would not bother freezing them to kill any parasites, though. I would think chances are the silkies aren't going to be carrying anything unless exposed to it by you or someone else who has handled them. They only eat one kind of food and the food must be free of bacteria or the silkies will die. I'd say if the silkie is healthy there's no need to worry about freezing it to kill parasites.

You're gonna love the temp gun!! Pretty soon you'll know what the temps are in every part of your room!

im moving to were they live, so i can gut load the silkies then freeze them. im moving were there are no vets, so i want to be very careful

I'm sure your herps will do fine. So you're taking both of them with you?

FYI, silkies live wherever people grow them. From what I understand, generation through generation of domesticating them has made it so they cannot survive in the wild.

silkies are native to turkey, so if i want, i could pluck them of mullberry bushes, but i'd rather get them from the silk market. my herps MAY come, but its possible they wont
