Im new to boas. Im interested in aquaring a pair of hogg islands boas later but I have a few questions. What age and size can hogg islands boas breed at and what is the average and or max size of an adult. also Im planning to keep them in rubbermaid containers in a rack. What size and quart would you recomend. Can anyone give me some tips for keeping the boas. Also can anyone post some pics of their hoggs? Thank you

Peter

I've been doing quite a bit of research. I can answer a couple of your questions with second hand info (assuming I remember correctly and that it was accurate info in the first place) Boas can breed at 3 years of age. Hogs are typically 5-6 feet. Male hogs can be about a foot shorter than females. Some males are only about 4 feet in length. An older female Sears line hog can reach 7 feet.

I can't answer the rubermaid tub question, but I'm looking into that as well.

I can give you links to sites with pics if you e-mail me.

I'm not sure I would do that...not sure you would get enough floor space...36X24X12 or so is the approx. amount of space you will need for an adult. This comfortably holds a 6' snake. If it has cross blood or the parents are larger, you may even have to go with a 48X24X12 to house up to an 8' snake.
