Iguana Den (www.iguanaden.com) has a lot of info on building a proper enclosure, along with several step-by-step instructions. Click on "iguana housing" .
Cages by Design (www.cagesbydesign.com) is worth a look. I haven't gone with them on cages yet, but I keep looking and might break down and go with them if I can get some good recommendations. Be prepared for sticker shock, though!
Big Apple Herpetological (bigappleherp.com) has a wire enclosure they call their "Iguana Home" . ) It's okay, but somewhat impractical in the sense that it's difficult to clean, too small for a full-size adult ig, and hard to maintain proper humidity.
Has anyone else gone with Cages By Design? If you have, I'm interested to hear what you think. A simple thumbs up or thumbs down would suffice.

the best way to house your igg is in a home made cage. not only is it cheaper but youc an choose how it comes out.
they are real simple to make..
my dad and i made one in a day we used 2x2 lumber and made an 8x4x6 cage and it cost about 100 bux.. but it is very rough.. and my igg cant use half of it so i dont have a pic of it.
but to huold a real ncie cage it would probably cost about 300 bux. alot less than the ones at cage by designs..
there are places online that youc an get plans.. go to google and search for iguana cages. and look on ebay they ussually have some on there..

YOU DONT OWN YOUR IGUANA, YOUR IGUANA OWNS YOU
Most people build their own. I avoided this for the longest time because I'm no good at building things... and, frankly, my husband isn't much better. Our first attempt failed miserably, but now my father-in-law, who IS good at building things, has stepped in to help us out.
Depending on how fancy you want to go, it can be expensive... that's true enough. We got lucky with wood... my FIL had lots of plywood and 2x4's just floating around, itching to be made into something. Then we wanted to paint it, and we had to buy shelving, and I just HAD to have this tree thing, which involved PVC pipe and 200 feet of rope, then we had to buy a vinyl remnant for flooring, and then the wiring for the open sides... now we're waiting on the strip light fixtures so we can finish it up. It's been quite the project, and I'll bet we've already topped $300 - again, not including the wood since we already had some.
But the best looking cages on the market, IMO, are the Cages by Design... and believe me, I looked into them when I tried to get out of building this beast. Something big enough for and adult ig easily tops $2k. If you want to add in lights and shelving all pre-installed and ready to go, you're looking at adding on at least another $500-$1k. So I guess you just have to look at it like that. You might as well spend the money now and opt for quality so you won't have to do the whole thing over again next year... but that's just my opinion.
Here's a picture of the cage we've been building for Xander. This is before we painted it, installed the wiring and shelving and vinyl, but you get the idea. It's 6' high by 4.5' wide and 4' deep. It should last him a few years until we have a house and can build him something huge and permanent.
