Hi everyone,
If you don't recall from a couple of weeks ago, I got a tiny female beccari in, who was badly dehydrated. I set her up in my "experimental" quarantine setup, with the garbage can/acrylic lid..etc...
She began eating drinking waterdroplets as soon as I misted her upon setting her up, and she began eating the day after. It has been almost two weeks now, and I am proud to say that she's putting on great weight, and is filling out(water weight). She will also accept food right from the hemostats... something that would usually take my adults several months/years to do.
I am very satisfied with this new quarantine setup, and would reccommend it to keepers with freshly acquired imported tree monitors, maybe even timorensis and other "smallish" varanids.. Sure beats a 40gallon aquarium...The benefit of this setup over my previous ones, is by having a taller setup, there is greater vertial space to accomodate a larger temperature gradient.
Basically, I just had a new pic of her, but had to type some text... take care everybody, Rock ON.
