What you do not want to see by your outdoor cage!!!!!!

artgeckko Jul 20, 2004 03:18 AM

When I went to remove my Adult Egyptian from his outdoor cage this was what waiting right next to him.
Thankfully he was on the outside of the cage and my uro was stilll inside.
He was very mellow and did not rattle until I used snake tongs to put him into a old cat litter container.
Seemed he wanted to take advantage of the same basking spot.
I had a rattlesnake wrangler relocate him to a ranch not too close to the house.
I have the outdoor cage so that cats ,hawks, etc... can't get in but snakes?????? Yeesh!!!
More scarry than that was my 2 1/2 year old daughter was first to the cage to see her "Baby Grover"- Grover is 23" long!

YIKES!

I am very glad everything turned out OK. Sometimes I am very glad I live in a climate that is not very "snake conducive"!

Yikes again! Just glad there were no further problems and that you had the snake tongs and knew how to use them. I will be moving to Florida from Wisconsin so I am concerned about the abundance of snakes in Florida. They sure have a large variety. My house is on the water and the neighbor said they had seen an alligator once in 17 years in that water. It is too salty for their taste. We don't have those problems in Wisconsin. Take care.

Good looking snake, but no, I would not appreciate him outside any of my critter pens!

Let him go and find his own basking spot

Cool Shot !
