FOOD: mice, fruits, silkworms, eggs.
BASKING SPOT: 112-115
COOL END: 80-85

You seem to know the basics. You know the diet and all the physical requirements, but there is alot more to owning one than just giving it what it needs to live. It is a huge time and energy commitment. You have to realice that a tegu will live several years. The only one that can realy tell you if you are ready is you. The only thing you had not mentioned in your post was the humidity they need. Good luck to you.

yeah, i forgot to mention that! the soil will be moist (not wet) and i can make it a long commitment, i'll never grow tired of a beautiful huge smart red lizard!

I dont know... "knolegeable?" that doesn't sound very knowledgeable to me. Maby you should stick to geckos.

Just kidding. You sound like you have a pretty good idea of what its like to own a tegu. Remember, however, that they require constant care every day. Also, you really should look into the diet a little closer. If you do end up getting one (i would recommend an argentine from bert at www.agamainternational.com) email me for some better diet info. Silkworms are really not that great for tegus compared to superworms or big roaches.
I hope you make the right choice...

No. We've already been through this. You are ten. (Or is it eleven this week?) You are supposedly moving to Turkey. You can't get your parents to let you get another leopard gecko to replace the one you couldn't keep alive. You post averywhere wanting a tegu, an iguana, a monitor, etc. You are either young and refuse to take anyone's advice, or maybe you are a troll. Either way, the way you jump around from week to week, wanting every inappropriate herp, including venimoids, shows that you are not responsible enough or mature enough to own any of the herps you ask about.
