Baby snapper escaped- Looks like raisin... Are they hardy?

My baby snapper escaped recently. It took a day to find it, and when I did it was very dry and dirty. I'm trying to nurse it back to health, but was wondering if there was anything in particular I should watch for. He seems to be OK.
