I haven't posted too many times on here, but I read the forum every day and have found it a great resource. I have two corns now, one is a Charcoal (I think) that is about 4 months old, the other is an Amel Motley that is about 1 month old. I was wondering if there is a definitive way to tell the difference between an Anery (A or B) and a Ghost, and what the specific genetics of a ghost are? My Charcoal is really light and I am wondering if he may actually be a ghost.
I also wanted to know about the dangers of a snake making it to the glass directly above a UTH. When I got him, I put my little guy on paper towels - I always do that for my new geckos, so I can monitor their poop better. This guy immediately found a way under the paper towels and stayed there. He has plenty of hides, but he just kept finding his way under the towels. I have moved him to lizard litter and he burrows like crazy, hopefully he isn't going to the bottom. I keep the UTH on a thermostat and have a digital probe thermometer to double check the temps. They seem to stay at about 83 - 87, which would seem pretty good, but the glass is very hot to the touch and I don't want him to burn himself.
One last little story. I started my Charcoal on papertowels, but they were never necessary because he refuses to go in his tank! He has only gone in his tank once. He waits until I take him out and poops on me! He once even went 6 days without pooping, then let go the minute I took him out. Is it possible for a snake to "hold it"?
Sorry about the long post. Thanks for all of the great information I have gotten from you guys. Everyone on this site is so nice and helpful, even if I haven't asked too amny times in the past.
