Parsonii locale info

kurpak Jul 20, 2004 03:26 PM

Does anyone have any information on the white lip/orange eye
morph of parsonii? I'm specifically looking for distribution,
climate, seasonal cycles etc. I've got an older book on parsonii,
but it doesn't give too much detail about the different morphs.
All i've been able to find out is the yellow lip is more montane,
white lips wider range with some lowland distribution,.. but i'm not sure
thnks,

i would email kammerflage kreations, they have a private collection of parsons, and they are very knowledgable about chameleons, im sure they could help you out or at least point you in the right direction.

You could also check the more recent cham book by Petr Necas: Chameleons, Nature's Hidden Jewels. It's a fairly spendy hardback but well worth it. Also check the link to the Chameleon Information Network that is supported by http://www.chameleonjournals.com that may have a species profile you can download. Also, http://www.adcham.com has many species profiles and they may have distribution info. There is a yellow lipped form and a white lipped form, but they are both parsoni parsoni. Parsoni cristifer is a different subspecies but does occur in some of the same range. If I remember right the yellow lipped form is found further south on the eastern coastal areas near Ranomafana NP and the white lipped is more in the NE coastal areas.
