Recommend some Dumerils Breeders for me ....

lgehrig4 Jul 20, 2004 06:31 PM

Can anyone recommend some good Dumeril breeders? I am looking for the light phase (similiar to the Arancio phase on Jason's dumerils.com site). I saw one at a show I went to last Sunday and passed it up b/c I wasn't looking to buy anything. Now I can't get it out of my mind.

Thanks in advance
Jeff

Tim Frazier of Illiana Reptiles always has gorgeous dums. I just spoke with him recently and his will be dropping soon. I also have obtained beautiful dums from Don Mercer as well. I'm not sure if he will have some or not since I've not talked with him recently.

Jason of www.dumerils.com is also a good choice. From pictures I've seen, he always has beautiful animals.

I have to agree 100% with the other two suggestions. Tim F. has awesome animals, and he's a great guy...same goes for Jason(classic dums), but I guess his other half is a great gal!(vs. great guy). If you found a dumerils like arancio, you should've snagged it with a quickness!!!! You'll probably be kicking your own butt for that one years from now-LOL! My recommendation is if you see one you like...BUY IT! There's a ton of dumerils available, but relatively few are true stand outs. Best of luck to you, take care!

Try Guy Clark @ WHRI. A lot of dums out there are inbreed. He is working with killer F1 stock, and has a TON of dums. He has a few 9ft plus females, that have retained their great color. He would be my first choice for dums.

I've had him for about 10 days. He fed the first day I had him and is doing very well. Very cryptic pattern, nice animal. He just had a litter last month.. a lot of nice red boas in that group.
Good Luck-
Matt Schubarth

PS: Hey Jason, could you shoot me the background info on that dumerils I just bought so I can put him into my records?

I would be interested in knowing who had the light phase dumerils and how much were they asking. Was it really as light as the Arancio Phase?

lgehrig4 Jul 21, 2004 01:41 PM

I don't know who the breeder was. I was the lightest that I have even seen in person. Without seeing Jason's Arancio phase in person I could only say that it resembled it.

thanks

I didn't inspect it myself. I was watching over someones shoulder as they were checking it out. I wouldn't say bone white, but the white was whiter than average and there was more of it. I'm sure it wasn't anything more than just an exceptional specimen. Even the other babies looked great. This one just stuck out.
