Fattail caging problem

mblons Jul 20, 2004 06:56 PM

There is something that doesn't seem right with my caging of male and female adult fattails. They don't jump at food when I put crickets in and I rarely if ever see them eat. I know they are secretive but sometimes all of the crickets are in cage next morning. They are in 30 gallon tank with uth. On hot side I have hidebox. On cool side I have tupperware for humidity and water bowl. In tupperware I have used bedabeast, vermiculite, and am using moist towels currently. With bedabeast, little flies would materialize. For substrate I am using cage liner. I have used sand and forrest bed and worried about impaction. Cage liner seems dry and am not sure if it is well liked by geckos. Am I missing something here? Should I use different substrate and not worry about the impaction? Thank you- Mark
