I've used pet grass for awhile in my snow corn's cage, but it dies out pretty quickly (3-4 weeks). Any suggestions on what type of fake plants I can put in there, and where I can get them? Thanks!

You can probably use just about any type of fake plant in your enclosure. However, make sure that the plant is not chemically treated with anything (to last longer or remain colorful). I once used fake plants for my Green Tree pythons but it was a nussaince b/c it got in the way alot. Some WalMarts have a art/craft section in the far back so maybe you can start there or maybe some petstores carry animal-safe fake plants.

I just buy the fake plants sold in the reptile section of my petstores. They have suction cups to attach them to the wall of the cage, etc.

I love your setup. How is cleaning the repti-carpet? I am using repti-bark now, but ws going to switch to aspen when the bag runs out. I tried paper-towels, but my snake kept getting underneath, and I had to empty the whole tank to clean anything.
I love the carpet and it works great for my BP. I just keep a clean piece on hand and after my BP 'leaves me a present', I switch them out and then clean, disinfect and dry the dirty piece so that it's ready use again. However, I think it might be a pain with a colubrid since they defecate more often. Once my corn is out of quarantine, I plan to put him on (as well as my kings) on Bed-a-Beast. One of my kings is on it now. I really like it. It looks natural, is easy to spot clean and you can feed on it. Just a pain to prepare - luckily you don't have to do it that often.

I use bed-a-beast for my geckos. I have never heard of anyone using it for snakes, but then again, I am a newbie. It is really easy to spot clean - much easier than the lizard litter. Do you (or anyone else) know of any potential hassles or problems with it?
I've met a number of people (online) that use it for various species and none have had any problems - just hate preparing it.
I love that you can make it as humid or dry as you want. I know some people who have problems keeping humidity up for their ball pythons in a glass tank use it and it helps tremendously. But since I use it for my king, I make sure it is extremely dry - as I will for my corn.

Thanks for the info. I'm not doubting you, but how do you feel about the possibility of respiratory infection from the dust?
It really doens't seem too dusty to me. After it was completely dry, I kind of sifted it - maybe that made it less dusty? Be interested to hear what someone else has to say.
