Ok, i guess I need to make a real cage for my b/w. I have had him in the biggest reptarium I could find in order to postpone the inevitable, but he claws holes in the mesh and escapes everyday. It's strange to open your front door and have both your dog AND your tegu there to greet you (they enjoy each other's company). Does anyone have any good cage plans, or should I just draw them up myself? My beast has made his point...
Also, if anyone is interested in cheap adult rosy boas, let me know. I got a bunch of great animals from a petstore that was going out of business...

Haha! I know the feeling, except my tegu hid... he didnt welcome me when I came home. I would suggest drawing your own plans and going to a local hardware/lumber store and asking for advice from them as to what kind of wood, etc... NO CEDAR! My dad helped me build this one, I just told him the dimensions I needed. Plus it is sometimes cheaper to make your own rather than have it custom built.

I agree. For most large lizards you almost have to go custom. I assume you know all the dimensions and stuff. You can build a basic box for aroun $150 and still be 100% functional. Definately build in a large lip to hold subtrate. I put a doggy door in mine so my tegu can free roam when he's a little older.
