Ok yet another question.

obakeboi Jul 20, 2004 11:12 PM

I believe the reason my frog may have died was because i was only feeding him mealworms, I just didnt have time to go buy crickets and had tons of mealworms, i will however from now on make sure there is a variety. My question is if I do feed my animals with canned crickets would I still have to dust them or not? I am not sure if in the canning process they have added nutrients or not. Any help would be appreciated, as well as what else would be nutrious to feed to my animals.
Tiger salamander
Grey tree frog
Fire bellied toads
(soon) pacman
Thanks everyone!

Unless the label specifically states that there is an addition of vitamins and minerals to the canned insects I would suggest the use of a supplement. Canning typically causes the loss of some nutrients.
