Best Diet For Eastern Garter Snake

I was wonderin the best diet to feed to a common garter snake. A friend of mine was not shure, and i have never really kept garters before so im not shure of the best things to feed them.

Please let me know.

f/t (frozen/thawed) mice. If they refuse mice, "scent them over" using earthworms. f/t mice have the lowest parasite risk.

In the wild, they eat mainly fish, frogs, and earthworms. However, if the area has a surplus of mice, and is low on those other prey items, they will eat mice, so converting them to mice is not an unnatural diet.
Most E. garters scent over to mice relatively easily.

If it is a wild-caught snake, it will need to be deparasitized promptly. Parasites can build up to lethal levels in captive conditions due to repeated contact with feces.
