Incubating question

lisa_cristin Jul 21, 2004 01:24 AM

What is the likelihood of producing a male when incubating at 80-82?

I have seen that it's about 95% correct. I'm not planning on breeding, just curious and a little frustrated. One of my little "girls" isn't a girl at all. Just my luck to end up in that 5%.

Thanks for any info,
Lisa

OH really Lisa?! Which one turned out to be the boy?

how's your zoo gettting along?

lisa_cristin Jul 21, 2004 08:22 PM

Hey Snarks, the blizzard is a he . I had them together while I was cleaning their enclosures, within 5 minutes he was already on top of my hypo. I think he is probably still too young (not even four months yet) and it was only for a short period of time so I'm not too worried about it. I have been checking her since, she seems fine. Boys, what can you do? I posted pics on the "other" site where many others confirmed it for me . Oh well. I'll post more pic's of them here soon, they change so fast. The rest of the zoo is doing good as well, how are your little ones? How is your crested?

wow really? I try to introduce my male to my female just to see if they will mate and she just bites the crap outta him.

Poor guy gets rejected all the time. But that's prolly cuz he's still smaller than she is.

aren't they all living seperately now?

They are all in the same tank but it has dividers. I take the geckos all out at the same time when I clean their enclosures. I really wanted to be able to permanently take the dividers out now. It would have been nice to give them the extra space. Right now they each only have 12"x12". Plus they seem so much more active when they are around each other, they are much more fun to whatch. I think I'm still going to take out the dividers and just keep the two girls in. I have an old 15 gallon that I can put the blizzard in. I had really wanted to get a crested, but after I set-up the new tanks I won't have room for one. Besides these two tanks I have a 10 gallon tank for my frog and 6 2 gallon tanks for my fish (what a pain the the ass the fish are, not to mention how horrible 6 tanks look in my little house).
