All the talk about Red Bulls a few weeks back got me dreaming of my next snake.....
Bulls seem to come in so many varieties/localities I can’t keep them straight. I know there are the Ginter and Crumbly lines, but there are also locality snakes.
Could someone please post pics of some of the different varieties of Red Bulls?

Are there differences in size between the different varieties?

Thanks
Shari

Shari,
There are only two lines of red bulls that we know of for sure.
Crumbly line is generic and gets pretty big. Most adults are around 7 foot and some even bigger,
Ginters line is locale from kingsville texas and stays below six foot.I have the origanal w/c male in my collection and he is about 5.5 foot long.

Anyways,Thats the two lines and they are both awesome,

Would you happen to have a picture of that original male? I have a 2003 male from that line and would love to see what the old boy looks like.

So if someone was interested in the Crumbley line of red bulls, who breeds them?

mousekiller Jul 21, 2004 05:27 PM

Ron Radloff of "The Crawl Space" has the Crumbly line of bulls.... He is a great guy to deal with.

Here is a pic of a young pair I got from him... The pic is not so good and one of them is about to shed but you get the picture.

In my humble opinion the Crumbly line is prettier... Much more contrast.

In an earlier post it as stated there are only two lines - Ginter and Crumbly. Then this picture of a Kingsville (assuming Kingsville is a locality) and I have heard of other locality Bulls.
If there are only two lines, does that mean all the localities fit under one of the two, or do the localities constitue a different cultivar?
Let me trying askig that a different way. Is a Kingsville Red Bull from the Crumbly or Ginter lines or separate?

My confusion is due to the fact I am more familiar with Corn Snake cultivars. As an example - You can have a snake from the Okeetee Hunt Club or an Okeetee phase from the Kathy Love line. (And to confuse the issue even further you can have an Okeetee locality from Kathy Love) Both are very similar looking animals, but one is a line, and one is a locality. How do all the different Red Bulls fit into this analogy?

By the way, keep the pictures coming. LOVE them!
Thanks
Shari

You are correct Ron got the original pair which was pretty nice right from the start. Follow the link for a history of the project. BTW ignor the contact info on the page its way out dated. I'm not even sure why the site is still up???

I agree about Scott's line having more contrast but both lines are very nice. given the pic of the original male
Shannon posted I've got to say those guys did one heck of a job breeding them out! For Scott and I the project just kind of landed in our laps.

I do. The pic is of my female at about one year of age.

Jeremy Pierce Jul 22, 2004 07:44 PM

Hello. I have a Crumbly line female and couldn't be happier with it. I also have a Reddish orange WC non locale Texas bull female that I am working into other projects.(she has quite the attitude as you can see in the pic!). Ginter lines are incredible as well. Why not just get one of each! Take care!
