Help With Heating!!

dazz Jul 21, 2004 08:25 AM

I have just finished building a new tank tank for my pair of Collareds. The dimensions are 36L 24W 24H, I have a 60 or 100watt spotlight (dont know what one to choose yet) to put over one area as a basking site and a 24 11 heat mat. Should i put the heat mat on the back wall near the hotspot or do i put it under the sand at the hotspot?? does anyone think this enough heat? I also have a small 11 11 heat mat spare also..

If you answer i will post a pic of viv when it is done..

Thank You

One on each end, and then put the heat pad near a cool area where the lizards will sleep. You will only know the heat requirements after you have this thing set up. You have to test them, then make adjustments as necessary.

I have a 160 watt Zoomed bulb hanging over my baskinf sight, anf they really use it!
Of course if you are able to take your collareds outside then you can save your money.
