Can ball pythons swim? Is it safe to put a ball python in an outdoor pool? Will it drown? How bad is the chlorine for the snake?

Ball pythons can swim very well (some dont like to). I would still watch it at all times and since it is a smaller snake make sure it cannot get into drains or skimmers. If the water temp. is above 80 you should be fine. I would also only do it while the chlorine level is very low, before you are ready to add.
i agree with with eunectes4...most of my balls love soaking but some of them freak out a little bit when they are in the tub with alot more water.....i would make sure there is plenty of floating devices for them to use so they can get out of the water if they wish. also if they are very young be extra careful of vents & drowning in general most balls can swim real good but the youngins aren't always great at it & can possible drown if not looked after..also incase you didn't think of it alot of my balls love to "take care of business" in the water so I would suggest maybe a half hour soak in warm water this way hoepfully they will "go" before they get in your pool.
