Looking for good photos of ratsnakes posing to strike

Amanda E Jul 21, 2004 04:05 PM

I'm just compiling photos of some ratsnakes, for my own personal use (no public display so no worry of copy-write infringement), so if you have some good quality photos of ratsnakes all puffed up and ready to strike, I'd love to see them.

I'd specifically like photos of beauty ratsnakes doing this, like a E. t. ridleyi and E. t. friesi.

I'd also like to get photos of Spilotes pullatus and Gonyosoma oxycephela doing this too.

Any others species would be great too.

Thanks.

Great! I love that photo. I actually saw that one a few posts down. She's very beautiful. It's actually one of the reasons I decided to ask for other photos showing snakes do this.

He certainly wasn't aware he was supposed to be gentle as an adult! He wasn't bluffing either.

Not sure if these are what you're looking for... This snake got in several good strikes during this photo session, but wasn't striking at the time I snapped this particular photo. He is nicely coiled though.

This guy doesn't look so tough with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, but he was definitely hissing and striking away. Gotta love Pituophis!

Was making this picture this morning. She was very angry at me. It is CB '04 so a very young snake. Have fun with the picture.
