Searching for an old add

turtlemix21 Jul 21, 2004 04:28 PM

HEy everyone, about a week ago, there was an add posted in the Tortise Classifides advertising a "SNOW Leopard Tortise". I can not find the add any more, and was wondering if anyone happens to know who placed and what web site it is.

Thanks to all for any help. Matt

Be careful with the snow leopard some of the trait is husbandry and some is genetic.

Also, do you remember a couple of years about the 'snow Leopard' where the seller first spray painted the tortoise and then sanded off the black pigment. The pigment in most tortoises shells do not go very deep.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't even aware there was such a thing as the snow leopard. I currently haev sulcattas, and am very interested in getting a leopard. My only concern is that I hear they can be difficult to keep?? I am not entirely sure if that is true, but I live in Chicago and the tort would have to be kept indoors majority of the year. Is there any tricks to keeping them indoors??

Thanks Matt

There isn't. It's a sales pitch.

Leopards can be delicate but I know a few people in the UK who are doing great with them and a couple that are actually breeding them. The point being that they are north of you.

Leopards like space. They seem to be wanderers.

They are a favorite of mine but can be boring unless you get lucky.
