Edible house plants......

zz Jul 21, 2004 07:26 PM

To make a long story short I am looking for a house plant (or some kind of flower I can grow inside) that...

1. will appease (sp?) my 2 year old daughter's desire to nurture something (kind of like big sister's fish)

2. My dragon can eat.

I thought about Hibiscus...but good golly...they grow to 6'. I know a lot of other house plants are poisoness. That is why I am asking here. I have tried to grow Arugula (with no luck).
I am at a loss.

(Did I say something about keeping this short...?? hmmm, sorry)

Beautiful Dragons

Pothos are great, they are found often in the potted plants section at your grocery store. leafy plant with heart shaped leaves. They are very easy to grow, take alot of abuse and neglect. They grow fast. (or so it seems) Very attractive house plant can be grown indoors, althought in VA mine do VERY WELL out on the porch. They bounce back quickly if you forget to water them. Just make sure you keep it in a well draining pot if it may get over watered. Its a trailing plant so it might get a bit big, but it can be snipped back and just put the cuttings in dirt or a continer of water and you will have another. Give them away or throw them out. I dont feed my dragon from it all the time, but he readily takes it. Oh and dont use fertilizer, I dont think it would be very good for your dragon, and mine have never seemed to need it. Well just a suggestion. Let me know what you use, I might be tempted to look for other "treats".
