Found this in my litter> what morph???

eabele Jul 21, 2004 07:47 PM

Hi,

I bred a imperator female with a beautiful pastel male this year and a week ago the babies were born. Some are light, some dark.

One of the babies is extremely lightcolored with beautiful saddles and a stripedtail. It's a strange color, I never saw it before. Could someone tell me what this is? Is it a hypo, or is it normal?

Almost T amelanistic..... It also looks very anerythristic to me as well. At the moment it is a wicked looking abberant boa that I would advise you to NEVER SELL, at any price, but it is not a morph. Has is shed yet?

If it were mine.... and I very much would LOVE to own it,I would breed it back to one of its parents, and to one of its nicer siblings, to see if it is genetic. If it turns out to be genetic, I would give it a name that fits, and price the babies somewhere comfortably between supply and demand.

After that I would outbreed it and any more like it to assure the vigor of the line.

Congraulations..... IMO you really have something there.

Alex, Isn't another name for your description commonly called a "ghost"?

What I also noticed; the snake doesn't have "the mustache", like all other boas do. It just has a few black spots...

Eabele.

post some pics again once it has shed the first time that will give everyone a better idea of what they are looking at. And make sure you follow everynes advice and DO NOT SELL that animal. You may be able to sell it for 1g's or 2g's now but if that proves out to be a genetic trait the market will be yours. I had to go through the same delema with my Arancio pahse dumerils. Last year I bred him to an unrealted female and she gave borth to 4 still borns two looked just like dad and 2 looked totally normal. I was offered 7g's for him as a baby I had the cash($100 bills) laid on my table at the hamburg show. So do not sell it, dont take it the wrong way I am not trying to turn ya greedy or anything but I always love to see the underdog win why should the big names be the only one with new morphs? They got enough alreayd we need to make them drul over ours like we do over theres LOL

Plus sign isn't coming through when I post.

I notice that the animal appears not to have the black around ANY of its saddles. Normally on a f1 hypo you would have black around all but the last few saddles. Even super salmons generally speaking dont have the washed out saddles on the inside like that one, especially that high up.

It does look very much like a ghost. It will be interesting to see what colors it changes to with age, but I deffinately agree with everyone you have something there......wanna sell???LMAO I couldnt help myself.
