mike d Jul 21, 2004 08:26 PM

well i am thinking about starting up a leopard gecko breeding colony in a month or so.. but im not sure on what to look for in them.. i know that some morphs are more desirable than others and stuff like that.. but im not sure what kind to get and breed... also does anyone know a website that shows pics of different morphs? i need pics of adults...

also what is a good breeding group size? i will probably be keeping them in a 75 gallon tank.

When I started my colony I went for just about every morph I could find. If you are going to keep one colony I would suggest hets, double hets, or homo for 1 trait and het for another. I like breeding hets and double hets because it is a suprise what hatches out. Kind of like Christmas! I have a website that you can view giants, blizzards, patternless, and albinos. Go to www.crgeckos.com. You will find pictures of the various morphs on my geckos page. I don't get into the patternless albinos, or SHCTs because they are a little too expensive and it seems like there are a lot of them out there. Also, I sell most of my geckos to local pet stores.

The most important thing I would do is find healthy geckos. We got a sick one from petco once and it was devastating to watch it's demise even with vet visits.

Any other questions, let me know.

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two
