Hi
beautiful BRB. I know a snake that's also a hypo, like yours. How much is a adutl female worth?
Eabele.
I haven't proven this male out yet, but next year I will find out if it is in fact genetic. I had purchased him in 2001, in a 1.1 and they bred the following season. To my dismay none of them looked as orange as this male. So I kept back one male and one female from this 2002 litter. They are just getting to the size where I could line breed the female offspring back to the father. Next season will either make or break my theory that this male Colombian Rainbow is a Hypo. I love your BRB.. very nice.

This is the male in question next to one of his offspring.
.......
maybe cause there is not another one to compare the color difference to.
........
Do you know for sure that snake was born froma Colombian litter?
I have seen true Trinidad Rainbows that are a sandy yellow color kind of like that one, some are completely patternless and a pale color. Just my observation.
Take care,
Nick
I'm pretty sure he is not from Trinadad. He is over 6 years old and I'm not sure if that locality was available back then. The man I bought him from was more into Brazilians at the time, which is why he sold them. Whatever the case, the first litter he sired for me is just coming to breeding age and a test breed will be done next spring. Every one of the babies took after the mother, so either her trait is masking the males orange or he is a snake of the hypo type... only time will tell. Below is the mother, what I consider a common type of CRB.
Matt
I'm not trying to burst your bubbble or anything but to really claim the animal as a hypo or something you really got to know the history and background, do you think the guy who sold it to you knew it was something special , I mean a breeder of almost anything would not pass something like taht up in thier collection if it were so special, and another thing did you pay really big bucks for them ? A lot of breeders do cross breed, I knew a guy about 10 years ago that had a trinidad Rainbow but onle one , never could find the opposite sex that he would consider True Trinidad, so maybe what had to happen was a cross breeding just to get something out of the snake, you know what I mean?
Any way good luck with your trials.
Nick
I had seen a few CRB's for sale today that I thought could be of the same color... but it turned out it was an anomoly of the photo and the flash bulb. They are brick red as all normal crbs are. The guy I bought them from was 100% legit. At the time, I paid what crb's were worth. I doubt the "H" word ever occured to him. They wre purchased on herpauction to boot. One man's trash is another man's treasure, eh? For now I'm sticking to my hypothesis. Its not like I'm trying to sell them, so I'm not sure what the big deal is about. If you can come up with pictures, with no funny business, to bunk my theory- I welcome it. I will keep you informed on these trials. But I doubt we'll see anything until next season.
