The article above is about anoles in captivity, but it also has some interesting remarks about lighting for forest lizards in general. The researchers kept a species of forest dwelling lizard, that is active during the day, under a combo of one cool white fluorescent and blacklight. Apparently, this is the intensity of light most forest lizards prefer and the lighting makes them more active. One complaint I've heard from the only person I have ever known to keep the species in question, Anolis bachoruceonsis, is they hardly saw the lizards, and his were kept under two full-spectrum fluorescents in a thirty gallon vivarium.
