chameleons4you Jul 22, 2004 01:11 AM

Does someone has a recipe to make the gel water for crickets?

Definately not the answer to your question but an alternative is a cotton ball soaked in water, should your kitchen explode or something.

this is also not an answer but just want to add that cricket cubes are completely unnecessary...a piece of fruit or vegetable is better.

I agree with gutloader...use a piece of fruit insead. I've had no luck using the gel as it becomes covered with waste very fast and begins to stink very fast as a result. Also I notice a lot more deaths in my cricket colonies when the gel is used. I use orange slices and have nothing but great success with them.

I do like the gel for my roaches though, just not crickets.

too much calcium kills crickets...alot of those gels have calcium in them and when combined with a dry food high in calcium it will wipe out your crickets in a night
