Average lifespan?

FisherCham20 Jul 22, 2004 12:56 PM

I was just curious if any knows the average lifespan of a Fisher's (or Jackson) chameleon in captivity? Doesn't have to be a scientific one, personal experence is wonderful. I've had mine for almost a year now and he's doing great. He's my first one. Thanks!!

males can live 8 to 10 yrs probably even more now that people know a little more about their husbandry. I seem to remember a guy from N.Y. who was in the Upstate herp society who had a female jackson's that I almost think he kept for 12 yrs. but I'm not a 100% sure that's definately a long time especially for a female, but then I personally know of a freind's mom who kept a green anole for 8 yrs. I'd would never believe it if I hadn't seen it for myself. Take good care of them and who knows how long they'll go.
