I dont mind buying crickets, but space in my house is limited, so I cant buy bulk, and i'm an hour away from a decent pet store, any opinions on flukers freeze dried crickets? Are they safe to use? I've tried the can crickets before, and my beardie eats them up, but they stink and somtimes they are nothing but mush.

How large is your dragon???

One option is to try to get it switched over to RepCal pellets & if it's big enough, supplement with supers. I would still offer the crickets as a treat. That way, you can just get some when you are on that side of town & don't have to depend on having crickets all the time. Supers are much easier to deal with. (do not refrigerate)
Also, only offer supers a couple, several times a week. They are high in fat and if abused, can lead to fatty liver dieses & obesity. And use common sense, if you think they are too big, don't give them to him. Also don't let him eat a bowl full of them. Only a few.
If you have a small dragon, You will probably not find supers small enough.

Don't forget, RepCal claims that the pellets are a full diet so if you give those along with the veggies, then bugs can be fed occasionally. I do not recommend cutting bugs off completely. I believe they need the true "fresh" animal proteins & what ever else they are offering that I'm sure we are yet to completely understand.

This topic is a very heated debate so I'm sure we'll get some other posts. You have to see what works for you & more importantly, your dragon.

Now, to answer your question. lol I would stay away from fluker products. JMHO

Good luck.

I have been sold on Silk Worms.!!! They are a little more expensive (than crickets in bulk...not from the pet store). But they are bigger than crickets and take up WAY less room!!! They don't stink, they are easy to feed, and they don't jump all over the place. I would go for that. (I have a baby beardie and feed her betwee 4-7 a day...100 of them costs me ~$15 and lasts about 2-3 weeks.) I am going to be buying in larger quantities to last longer.

I have also raised super worms...they are nice to.

Good luck
PS: I also like feeding canned crix. I have a hard time finding "reasonable-priced" pellets, so I am working on that.
