was it born like that or did it have an accident that caused it to lose its eye?

The "one eyed snake" should still be able to kick it...

Breeding is exactly what 'one eyed snakes' are for!

This question has been discussed in other forums but no concensus has been reached as far as I know. So the rest of this post is strictly my opinion.

I've seen congenital eye defects in at least three taxonomic families of snakes. I think that that such defects could be eliminated by a change in the environment, probably by better nutrition of the parents. So I would say that a congenitally one-eyed snake could be bred, though I'd rather it was the male than the female because the female contributes the egg yolk that nourishes the embryo. And if any of the babies had such defects, I'd kill them rather than sell them.

You should not buy a congenitally one-eyed snake for breeding if one or more of the following is true:
1) The snake is female.
2) You believe the eye defect is caused by a defective gene.
3) You would not kill a congenitally one-eyed or otherwise defective baby snake.

That's my opinion. YMMV.

why kill them? I don't understand... even a one eyed snake could still live a fairly normal life.
