Don't confuse Full spectrum with UVB. They are not one in the same. Full spectrum is only referring to visible spectrum. UVB is not visible light & is not provided in full spectrum bulbs.

Now, why would you want to use a red light? They don't put out "bright" light. The cage will not be nearly as bright, with a red light in it & Dragons love light intensity. Red bulbs are used for nocturnal animals and dragons are not.

Not to mention, red heat bulbs cost a lot more than normal spot bulbs (household spot bulbs that is)

I agree, bright lights make happy and active dragons. Don't ever do with anything else, what can be done with bright lights!

I cant recall right this minute but someone said in the post something about regular white bulbs (unless I misunderstood.) Do regular bulbs (ie. kitchen bulbs) put out the same heat output? What about flood lights? And for the record, I do use a basking light for my beardie, and he likes it very much.
