A little reminder

savvgawd Jul 22, 2004 03:30 PM

I'm sure all of you know this but I'll say it anyway, snakes truely are unpredictable. No matter how much you believe you know your snake, things can happen. The reason I'm saying this is because last night around 4 in the morning I just got in the house so I went to look at one of my new cages which is houseing my 10 foot burm. He is an extremely sweet animal and almost seems to enjoy people. His head was up against the glass so I slid the door open and WHACK, his head flew out of the cage mouth open striking at my hand. Luckily he wasn't able to tag me but it was close enough that his head brushed my hand. My girlfriend was right next to me during this was in shock that he did this. I immediatly then began stressing to her this issue. Anyway sorry to ramble on, heres a pic of one of the 4 Animal plastics cages I recieved yesterday. Rooms so messy cause we are in the middle of moving....

Nice lookin cages, and a great reminder to everyone. These snakes are beautiful and most are pretty trustworthy most of the time, but they are very instinctual creatures and we always have to remember that.

Another thing to be wary of...it looks as though you have books against the heat lamp.
Paper Heat = fire.
Guess I'm just a worry wart by nature. Nice cages by the way.
