Big GA boy photos...eat your heart out Hillson LOL

This snake was measured using SerpWidget at 68" 6 months ago and weighed right at 5 pounds. He's slightly longer now I'm sure but I know he's put on some weight! I've got to cop some scales from someone to find out just how much, but the girth is getting up there.

For an experiment, I let my crazy as#, 54" or so 4 year old female Eastern, "Bonkers" jump on him (she'll jump on anything that moves, hence the name). She grabbed him at the neck wrapped about 2/3 or her body, then in about one second released, hit the ground (only about an 18" fall onto the carpet) and shot like a cannon under the nearest shelter she could, musking all the way! LOL He just tightened his muscles and she totally freaked. He's so much larger he just turned, tasted a little on the ground, and then causually went about his business - she's not even finger food size for him...unless he was really, really hungry. Being well and regulary fed it's going to take a larger snake to get his interest! He's got to be pushing 5.5-6.0 lbs, but I'll find out for sure this weekend.

A few pics of Augustus:

The 6" scale and quarter are just for reference, but you can see the girth on this 69" or so beefy Eastern; these were taken today and he hasn't eaten in 8 days so he's on "empty" in these pics.

Another body shot:

On the bed; the tape is 60", he's reaching it on one end not even close to being stretched out and the tail is at the 7-8" mark (you can see it if you blow up the shot):

Peace.

You guys with your huge easterns make me one jealous SOB. I'd love a pic of someone holding that monster. Nothing shows size, especially girth, better than a big snake being held. congrats on the fine snake.

Keith,

Just been busy as hell; haven't even had a chance to get up with Sean and we're in the same damm town!

Been herpin' a bit but it's sooo hot down here right now that I only see live snakes early (before 8:00AM) or after 7:00PM. They're smarter than me, with my dumb butt out checking wetlands in 96 degree heat with something like a 112 heat index!

I just sent you an e-mail.

That's why I like Kingsnakes over House Snakes. Both have very comparable traits (nothing strikes faster than a House Snake!), but Kings are more full-bodied and thicker.
