non-feeding baby ball--Help!!

evers310 Jul 22, 2004 09:16 PM

I have a small baby ball python that is refusing all food. He doesnt even look at the mouse let alone strike it. So far I've tried adult mice, hoppers and fuzzies, both live and F/T. I'm new to Balls but I know they are very timid and can be stressed easily. I've only had him for a week now but I'm starting to worry about him because he's getting very soft. His stomach is totally empty. The other two balls I bought with him are eating fine. should I try to force feed him or no? I have a Black ratsnake that I had to force feed for months due to an injury but Black rats are not nearly as timid as balls. I dont want to kill him from stress. any suggestions are greatly appriciated.

start eating. I would wait a bit more before force feeding. they are pretty strong snakes and sometimes go for weeks refusing to eat and then start again. I am pretty new so you should get other advice too.

Thanks for replying, I have a few other non-feeding balls but I'm not to worried about them because they still feel firm, he's getting very soft, his body is wrinkled up near his tail. I dont think he's dehydrated because he's been drinking water.
