Is this regular hypo -or- hypo okeetee

carl3 Jun 22, 2003 10:28 AM

I got this 02' corn from a top breeder that I can not mention in this forum. I went back and forth between ordering a normal hypo (het for amber) -vs- a hypo okeetee. Since I changed my order a few times, I am unsure of which one I received. I could call the breeder back to find out, BUT that wouldn't be any fun. LOL! Either way, I am happy with which ever it turns out to be. Its always fun to have surprises to look forward to down the road.

Just out of curiousity, (if this pic comes through) what type of hypo does this look like to you? normal hypo -vs- hypo okeetee?

(sorry for the poor pic quality...first time i am using the photo album to upload a pic)

Or hypo type 'A'

Hypo Okeetee is also known as Sunkissed (sp?) It is a form of hypo that appeared in Kathy Love's line of Okeetee on it's own. So far, I've only seen it in snakes that still hold very close to the Okeetee bloodline it originated in. Thus, the snakes you see with that form of hypo (type 'B'?) are very orangish.

It's hard to say what that type hypo would do to a Miami?? Type 'B' is still fairly new to the herp world, it will take some time to sort things out, or it may just get more confusing!
