Birthing pics, Dwarf female giving birth to 50% het hypos

thecaiman Jul 22, 2004 10:34 PM

All the below pics are of the same baby being born. Sorry about the clarity of the first two.

Finally he is all out, I actually took a bunch of other pics of the babies I had two weeks ago in between the above pic and the below pic.

Below you can see he is still fully in the sac.

Below he has broken free.

I don’t know if it will come up but in the below pic you can see his back half is still in the sac. There appears to be a cloudiness over his eyes, that’s actually shed skin that’s peeled off his snout. As soon as they leave the sac they start rubbing trying to get their first shed off.

Heres some pics of the clutch

And below would be their Aunt, the hypo. I just happened to find this pic I totally forgot I had it, I think Kevin Hanley took it.

Anyway that was the seen here tonight. Total count within the litter was 7 healthy babies, 3 slugs and one severally kinked Ill get some pic of that because Ive never seen anything like him. He was so bad I had to freeze him he was folded 180 degrees and about inches on his below was grown together, the white scales. It was sad, he got his head out of the sac and tried like hell to move on out. Anyway wanted to share enjoy.

Beautiful babies! I like them a lot. I didn't know they tried to get their shed off as soon as they are born...that's crazy! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Awesome pics, and VERY pretty babies. Love the Aunt. She's so pretty!! I'd be interested to see the pic of the kinked baby, too.
