Bad shedding problems, please help!

uncannycynic Jul 23, 2004 03:49 AM

This isn't for my gecko, but more for a friend's friend's leopard gecko. I haven't seen it, so I'll just describe how it's been described to me...

The gecko has apparently been born with a shedding problem and the owner has been told that he's always been like that and to keep the vivarium wet, which she has done. He doesn't like rocks but has something similiar to driftwood and a cactus that he's learned to use to help him shed with. He currently walks bowl-legged since the shedding problems wound up cutting off the circulation to his legs. (this was a good while back though). Anyway.. it's having shedding problems, soo, any suggestions?

She's going to take a picture tomorrow, and I myself am rather curious as to what may help, so I'm posting this before tomorrow. I'll reply to this post tomorrow with the picture, if anyone cares to help..

Please soak her insome shallow water. That should help loosen up the skin and can be pulled gently off. Any resistence soak again. Drying skin can pinch off the circulation and cause the appendage to fall off. Not good. Good luck.
