feeding a Bp a pregnant rat, OK?

ginevive Jul 23, 2004 06:34 AM

I have a medium rat who has gotten pregnant. I got her that way; I never purposely breed my feeders until they're adult sized. But she is one knocked up little rat. Is it safe or desirable to feed her to my Bp in this state? She is not too big that it'd be hard for him to swallow. I really do not want a rat for a breeder that's pregnant so young, as it shortens the lifespan.

Shouldn't be a problem. I've fed pregnant rats to my BPs before, and the only problem I've had is them swallowing the larger belly on the rat.
