Espio used to not eat because Lizzie would not let him-but now since they are seperated i dunno what the problem is - a friend recommended forcing it in hios mouth and make him eat it-i doubt that is a good thing to do-lol-but anyways, its not like he doesn't eat at all----its just he doesn't eat enough to gain weight!!!!! i feel bad 4 him!! some1 please tell me what to do-i got him checked at the vet for parasites and he is clean-so i have no idea what the problem is

P.S. The other ig lizzie is doing amazing and is about 2 feet long now!!!!! espio (since he lost his tail) is about 5 inches SVL (yeah i know small-HE WON"T GROW!!!!!!!!!!!)

What kind of uvb lighting do you have? Are the bulbs older like 6 to 8 months old? could need new ones...UVB has a great deal to do with growth also...good luck...Lyn

What are your temps like? Higher temps help stimulate metabolism.

OMG! I had the same problem with kiwi for a long time, he is just starting to eat good again. I agree with raising the temps. Even if the basking temp is good i have found that he will only eat good if the whole cage is warm enuf. Also try the iguana den diet. Kiwi LOVES it! I had him on the MK salad for a long time and mabe its just him but he will only eat it if its fresh, none of that pre-grated frozen..... stuff, so i just give the ig diet greens and just add fresh veggies to it occasionly for variety. Also try reg geranium flowers, i think its the bright color or something cuz Kiwi goes absoluly crazy for them. Sory for the long post.

My igs hate the pre frozen stuff too!Yes, they are doing great with Iguana Den too!

About that ig that doesnt eat, it seems too sad and depressed on that photo.Depressed igs dont eat enough to gain weight and sometimes dont even eat at all!Besides checking the temp you have to figure out why the ig is depressed. If you separated them but the smaller ig can still see or feel the smell of the huge one that perhaps is the cause.The big one is still threatening and scaring the small one!
