the way this chameleon is looking is BAD! and from the looks of it i beleive its a male Veiled Chameleon. But, it looks liek it could be suffering from a calcium defficiency, most likely metabolic bone disease and if so, it can die SOON! so, take it ta a qualified reptile VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! If you are not up to all of its acre and so forth i would give it to somone willing to take care of it, because it will be a lot of work. Buty, all i can say is take it to a VET immediatly. Metabolic bone disease can be life threatening but only your qualified REPTILE VET can accuratly tell. The chame seems to be fed fine i beleive? it looks nice and fat. But, do u have a UVB bulb in the cage atleast? If not i would recomend getting a Mercury Vapor bulb or at the very least a Repti-Sun 5.o UVB/UVA bulb IMMEDIATLY! The basking sight should be around 100 degrees or so. The ambient cage temperature should be around 75-80. Night temperatures should be around 70. I have done fine misting my chameleon with a spray bottle once/twice a day and it has not dehydrated. If teh chameleon is adult i would feed it about 10 crickets every other day to three days, but im not quite sure on this so you should ask some more qualified for that question bcause my Veiled Chameleon is still a juvenile. And for supplementation you should ask your vet, because it will depend on if it has metabolic bone disease. But, if it doesnt have metabolic bone disease, you should dust the crickets once a week. Oh, you should also gutload the crickets with oranges and something like flukers gutloading powder, im not sure exactly what its called. Email me as sson as you get this if you need any more help. This is just a quick care sheet for it and a more detailed one should be looked at but this shgould get you goi9ng for now. Also, email me as soom as you take it to teh VET. Once again i cant stress how much to take it to a REPTILE qualified VET as SOON! as possible.
