Today i found an iguana in a backyard. I plan to keep it only t'ill i found a better home. The ig is about 2 feet, with some shed still clinging to his head. I put it in a 4x1 enclosure with a 100w basking light, paper towel as a substrate. What to feed it ? Now i have green beans, apple, brocoli, blueberry, banana and iceberg lettuce and mealworms. Water bowl ?

Yes give him a water dish...you can give him green beans, but he needs greens not lettuce...dandelion, collard, mustard etc..temps 90 to 95 in basking area and low to mid 80s in cooler zone...where are you located? good luck...Lyn

Less fruit, no mealworms, dark greens as Zelda mentioned. Good luck & keep us posted!

I'm located near Montreal. from what i guess he must have been in the wild for two days. When we got him he was prety lethargic but after spending the evening under his basking light, he's active now. He's very skittish, i cant come close to his enclosure without having him fly away in every direction. Tonight he ate a mix of carrot, apple and lettuce sprinkled with vitamins and calcium. I know lettuce isnt that great but thats what i had. I had'nt any green beans left. I hope lettuce wont make him sick ? I would love to keep it but i'm not prepared to keep that big lizard, in the next few days i'll give him to somebody who will be prepared to care correctly for him. Tomorrow i'll go pick him some better food.

Any hint is very welcome.
