Collared Lizard help

herpeguitarogist Jul 23, 2004 09:27 PM

I'm interested in getting another lizard, possibly a collared lizard. How well do they tolerate handling? Is there a website/page that can show me care on collared lizards (i.e. a care sheet). What size enclosure would you need? Any help would uh...help :-/

Some quick answers and a couple of informative sites.

Collareds, when handled daily, make excellent pets, can become very tame. Depends on how much time you want to put into it!

They are awesome, and will begin to jump right into your hand

Enclosure, can start with a 30 long for a pair but BIGGER is BETTER, they love the room, very active and fun to watch.

1 male per enclosure, they do fight and are very territorial.

Here are the sites you can check out, and we can help with any other questions, as you have them, Hope you decide on one, you sure wont be sorry! Lots of luck in your Quest!
