Here are 3 better pics of my setup. You can see how the outlet pipe is underneath the turtle dock.

do you have real or fake plants in your tank?? and how do you anchor them down? Oh...and one more thing how big is your gravel and if it's smaller, have you ever had any probs with your turts trying to eat it?? I want to come up with a better set up for my turts...i currently also have a 55g and your set up is one of the ones i've seen that i've liked the best!

Hi there! The plants are fake and they all have a heavy base to them that you anchor by placing the base under the gravel. The gravel that I use is medium sized. It isn't that tiny stuff that most people use in their fish tanks. The rocks are about 3/4 inch to 1 inch in size. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know! Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks for the updated pics. I don't understand how you have about the same amount of empty space between the dock and the top of the tank as I do yet your pipe can go that far under the water! I think I am going to add the other elbow attachment (the little one) and then attach the power jet spray onto that (so it sprays down). I will let you know if this works and I will post pics when I am done (if it works lol).

nice setup....did you get those rocks from a pet store??

missminizoo Jul 25, 2004 11:48 PM

Nope, I collected them from a little creek near my house. I soaked them in bleach solution for 2 days and then clean water for two days.

OK so I took new pics since I added the other elbow and the power jet thing. I also posted a pic of my entire set up in another post asking to post set ups. Anyway here are my new pics.

Oh I forgot to add this. Binx LOVES this new set up. Since it sprays down he plays in it. He will swim under the spray so it pushes him down as he swims past. It's funny to watch him do it like 5-6 times in a row. It seems he never tires of it. He also likes to play in the water flow of my python when I am filling his tank back up.
