cage upgrade.. need new recommendations.

I'm getting ready to upgrade to my 55 gallon. I have a 20 gallon with a hood type light and heat bulb, as well as a UTH for a 20 gallon. What should I get for the bigger tank? I plan on keeping with the playsand and upgrading to higher climbing areas and bigger rocks. Will I need to go with a dog bowl for water?? Hes about 12-15 inches long. What should I use as far as heat light wattage(sp)? Will I need to get two?? one for each side. Is an UTH really needed. and where should I place it. (I typically keep my house fairly cold)

I have been able to maintain the heat with 1 100 watt t-rex bulb. I also got an uth for when it gets cold. As of right now it is off.
